It’s a great day…. I got a vanilla latté from Starbucks!
=D (yes, this is a big deal as latté are
a rare treat for me)
Looking at my cup, I was struck by the quote printed there –
so here it is.
“It’s tragic that extremists co-opt the notion of God, and
that hipsters and artists reject spirituality out of hand. I don’t have a fixed
idea of God. But I feel that it’s us – the messed-up, the half-crazy, the burning,
the questing – that need God, a lot more than the goody-two-shoes do.”
On one hand, Mike is correct. God, as Jesus, came to save
the poor, the beat-up, and the down-and-outers. However, He also came to save
the “goody-two-shoes”. The problem is that while the down-and-outers realize
they need a savior, the “goody-two-shoes” think they it all figured out. What a
sad state to be in. =/
